Hey all! Good news! Our pal and rock n' roll legend Paz Lenchantin is coming to Portland and, believe it or not, her only Portland gig is at Mississippi Records! Really. Paz has been all over the place. She played in a little band called The Pixies for ten years. Beyond that, she's a virtual "Forest Gump" of the world of music- appearing in all kinds of unexpected contexts. She pops up on a Silver Jews Album one minute, then plays surprisingly deep violin solos on The Miami Vice soundtrack the next, and then plays bass in MAJOR 90's bands. All the while, Paz kept her DIY / arty spirit intact. She's an artist of the highest order. Nowadays, Paz is getting back to her DIY roots. She just recorded her first solo album in twenty years, the pop masterpiece TRISTE . To promote it, she's on a lo - fi solo tour, playing only record stores! Classy stuff.....
