Breakaway opened in June of 2008 After 2 years at a small location in East Austin, we moved to our current location on North Loop in 2010. In 2017 we expanded into the space next door, doubling our square footage. Originally we sold only used records, with a heavy focus on soul, jazz, and hip-hop. We’ve always specialized in 45s (all genres), and strive to keep the best collection of used 45s in Austin (or Texas for that matter!).
